What is a Cacao Ceremony?
Cacao is a gentle plant spirit, cherished for her ability to open the heart and deepen presence. In ceremony, cacao becomes a master teacher, a guide, and a bridge between worlds and the body, mind, and spirit. She invites us to slow down, listen deeply, and connect with the wisdom that already lives within.

While sound healing is a deeply relaxing and beneficial practice, there are some important contraindications to keep in mind to ensure a safe experience for everyone. People who are in the first trimester of pregnancy, have a history of seizures, or use a pacemaker or other metal implants should consult with a healthcare provider before participating. The powerful vibrations from gongs and other instruments can sometimes create intense resonance within the body, which may not be suitable for these individuals. For pregnant participants beyond the first trimester, sound healing can often be enjoyed safely, but it's best to keep a slight distance from the strongest vibrations, like those from gongs. Additionally, if you have any sensitivity to sound or are prone to anxiety, let the facilitator know so adjustments can be made to ensure a comfortable experience. At our event, your well-being is our top priority, and we're here to help make this journey as safe and enjoyable as possible.
Ceremonial cacao is generally safe for most individuals when consumed in moderate amounts; however, it may be contraindicated for people with certain health conditions or sensitivities. Individuals taking antidepressants, particularly MAOIs or SSRIs, should exercise caution due to cacao’s natural content of tyramine and tryptophan, which can interact with these medications. Additionally, those with heart conditions, caffeine sensitivity, or high blood pressure should consult a healthcare professional before consuming ceremonial cacao, as it contains theobromine—a stimulant that can affect the cardiovascular system. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should also seek medical advice prior to use.
It's important to note that while Reiki is a gentle and non-invasive healing modality, there are certain contraindications to consider. Individuals with pacemakers or other electronic devices should consult with their healthcare provider before receiving Reiki, as the energy may potentially interfere with these devices. Additionally, those with acute medical conditions, such as a recent surgery, injury, or severe illness, should seek medical advice before undergoing Reiki treatment. Pregnant individuals are advised to consult with their healthcare provider before receiving Reiki, particularly in the first trimester. Reiki practitioners should also be mindful of clients with a history of trauma or emotional instability, as Reiki sessions can sometimes bring up intense emotions. As always, it's essential to communicate openly with your Reiki practitioner about any medical conditions or concerns you may have to ensure a safe and effective healing experience.
